SPEAKER:  Britt Embry and Justin Girard, from Hearts & Roots, will be speaking on Community Supported Agriculture (CSA), Growing Organically and Incorporating Permaculture
WHERE:  Assiniboine Park Conservatory, Winnipeg, MB
WHEN:    7:00 pm - 9:00 pm (doors open 6:30 pm)
***NOTE:  Fourth Monday of the month.

Britt and Justin own and operate Hearts & Roots, a small, organic vegetable, fruit and flower farm near Elie, Manitoba. They are entering their fourth year farming together and sell their produce directly to their customers and wholesale to stores and restaurants. They grow over 45 varieties of fruits and vegetables on five acres and are passionate about growing organically for the health of their land.

To assist in our ongoing effort to be environmentally friendly,
please try to remember to bring your own mug for your herbal tea.

Doors open 6:30 pm | Meeting 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm | Doors close 9:00 pm
Yearly Membership: Individual $25; Family: $35; Business $50

Conservatory Closing

On Friday, January 12, 2018, the Assiniboine Park Conservancy announced the closing of the Conservatory on April 2, 2018.

Our January, February and March meetings will be held in the Conservatory as usual. The location of our April, May and June meetings have not been finalized yet; however, we will be notified of the location change over the next few months.

The Herb Garden will remain in the same location for 2018.

Our HerbFest celebration will still be organized for June; however, the location in the Park will be determined in the Spring.

HerbFest recognized as one of Canada's 150 Gardening Experiences

To celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday the Canadian Garden Council, in collaboration with the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association, have awarded 150 “Canada 150 Garden Experience” designations to highlight the role of gardening and gardens in communities across Canada.

HerbFest at the Assiniboine Park has been chosen as one of five gardening experiences for the province of Manitoba.

Herb Society of Manitoba Cookbook

In honour of our 20th Anniversary, one of the things we did was reprint our cookbook. Lots of great recipes in there. Thanks to Debra for making it happen!

Cookbooks can be purchased for $20.00 at HSM monthly meetings.

As a member of the Herb Society of Manitoba, you can receive discounts at certain businesses when you present your membership card.  Check out our Join Us page for this and other benefits of membership.

Memberships need to be renewed each September. If you are renewing at a monthly meeting, please try to arrive a bit earlier to give yourself time to fill out the renewal form and make your payment. You can also fill in and print the online Membership Renewal Form and mail it in with your membership dues.
